ATC question

Thanks for your help, I honesly though it was the last two letters of the a/c’s registration but I had a look and EZY don’t have a G-**NT.

I believe it’s a designator they use rather than the flight no. Just to confuse air band listeners? Maybe. isn’t there somethig called ACARS which you can use to decipher what you have heard? Not much help really am I?
