Airbus A 380's in Britain

Apart from the obvious customer Virgin Atlantic, are there any more scheduled or finalized deals for the A 380 in to the U.K.

If there arent would bmused or Britannia or whoever can do it do a photoshop of BA. Sometimes Charter aircraft such as the 753 or the 762 can get overcrowded so the A 380 would be the answer to all thier problems.

Not from what I heard

Apparently the runway length at Belfast City is 6,000ft! No chance of ever seeing a 747 or an A380 in there!

Although i am a passive Airbus fan i think that they have gone over the top with the A 380. As it is nearing reality i am not sure i want to see one as i think it is or should be a futuristic aircraft:( 🙁

Yes, they will. BA don’t wanna put any money into such a high risk project. If it goes down the tubes, BA’s money would be lost. They can ill afford that right now.

BA makes most of its money from their long hauls on the US sectors. The Kangaroo route does make money, but not nearly as much as the US routes. And the 747s and 777s are doing a perfect job on those.
So, to put it simply, BA doesn’t need the A380 right now and is wisely not blindly ordering fleets of them.

Exactly as Sandy says, you wouldn’t get an A380 in or out of many of the places we operate into.

What a statement  The a380 holds thrice their passenger capacaity so putting an a380 in a charter configartion would be
– not efficient for europe
– overcrowded flights? you watch too much tv. it happens sometimes, but the’re not gonna show a floght checkin on tv without any problems!

think twice

Er, no it wouldn’t

Your average charter flight is to small airports that can just handle a 757 or 767. (Just ask Wys)
The A380 would be FAR to huge for that.

As for BA, they’ve already stated they don’t want the A380 as they are going for frequency.

But, I could be persuaded to do a drawing 😉
