Hi
Is the Nae 146 the same as the Avro RJ100?
If they are why did they change the name?

Normally, you can differentiate the BAes from the Avros through the fact that the BAes have a little “tailskid” which was deleted on the Avro RJs … If I’m not mistaken, but I’m not an expert in civilian planes.

roughly the equivently between the two goes something like….
BAe 146-100 = Avro RJ70
BAe 146-200 = Avro RJ85
BAe 146-300 = Avro RJ100
Thats the way to spot them from the outside, although they are supposed to be vasly upgraded internally as Sandy pointed out.

The BAe 146 is the first “generation” of the family.
With Updated avionics, interior and engines etc, the next generation is the AVRO RJ. Outwardly almost identical, save for the odd antenna.
or is it the other way round… LOL I keep mixing them up
