Airliner turns back mid-Atlantic
A New York-bound Virgin Atlantic plane has had to turn back to London after a burning smell was detected.
There are 181 passengers on board flight VS45.
It is due to land back at London Heathrow at 1345 GMT, Virgin said.
It turned around over the Atlantic while en route to John F Kennedy airport.
The airline’s website said flight VS45 was scheduled to take off at 0930 GMT.
