Phuket Air Boeing 747-206BM(SUD)
Bangkok – International (Don Muang) (BKK / VTBD)
Thailand, January 16, 2004
HS-VAV Phuket Air got 2 B747 in a special hybrid color parked on Bangkok ramp. The airline seems to prefer hybrid color scheme for their aircrafts! (Using Metrojet and KLM) Ex-PH-BUM.

Interesting to see when you land in BKK are the nosecones of some local planes (And the state of the planes in general). Apparently, heavy hailstorms are common. I wouldn’t like to fly in one of those.

what confuses me is that they went through the trouble of getting KLM to repaint a 742 in Phuket colours, then didn’t take that 742, instead they go for these other 2…. strange.
Perhaps the first had too many cycles/hours on it.

Here’s the United example. Probably not the best shot because of the light and the angle from which it was taken.

Awful combination! Orient Thai Airlines (or whatever they are called) are an airline I saw a lot at Bangkok in July. They also have earlier 747s painted up in United colours! 🙂
