Yes but at least he was one of the few outspoken businessmen who actually gave a damn about saving Concorde. I agree EADS and AF were largely responsible for the early retirement of Concorde and hopefully the truth will out, as the saying goes. Interesting the effect a crash in France can have in terms of producing conspiracy theories.
Now who mentioned Princess Diana ? 😉

But if it did Sandy, we wouldn’t be talking about Concorde as a historical aircraft now would we ?
Lets not start this again.
Branson could NOT have done anything to save concorde.
It was Airbus, or the parent company EADS that killed off concorde. They stopped manufacturing parts, refused to sell on the type certificate, refuses to sell on manufacturing rights for the parts, refused to allow their engineers to work wth BAE or another company.
Air France then refused BA access to their grounded fleet to take spare parts, despite the fact AF concordes had been flying for several years using BA parts.
All this after AF retired their fleet as they couldn’t afford it.
They then have a meeting with Airbus and boom, airbus stop all support for concorde.
Branson used the situation as a PA stunt. Nothing more.
The virgin brand merely cheapens concorde.

That’s a 1:200 scale model if I’m not mistaken?
They’re always cropping up on ebay, just keep checking for them.

I’m sorry, but as much as I like theVS livery, thats one scheme that I’m glad never got on a concorde.
