It has just been announced on Belgian radio that Sobelair have declared bankruptcy. A shame for their staff and another historic Belgian carrier gone.

Like someone still believed it could be saved… SN will also go banckrupt within the next two years. It’s a shame for the people who worked there and the Belgian economy in general, but Sobelair was a temporary solution set up by the Belgian gov’t after the demise of Sabena.

Same fate as for French ailines those days (Aeris , airLib , Air Littoral etc….).
Weird …

Sobelair were Sabena’s charter airline in the later years. They survived the Sabena bankruptcy, but now they too have gone.
