I watched a documentary about Lagos Airport on Discovery, too, quite some time ago though.

It certainly is a very dodgy airport, anybody can access the apron from the outside and probably not even get questioned as to why they are there.

Yes its the airport for Lagos which has been the subject of a documentary series on Discovery (I think). It is named after a former military ruler of Nigeria – General Murtala Muhammed. Its is also a risky airport security wise. Planes have been halted on the runway by robbers in the past who have opened the luggage compartments (don’t ask me how) and helped themselves. It seems an odd destination from Newcastle as I would not rate Lagos as a holiday destination.
Lagos is the former capital, the capital is now Abuja.

No It’s LAGOS airport, Nigeria’s biggest city (Ibadan being the capital).
