It's a bomb!

well… not quite.

Today Schiphol airport’ terminal 1 and 2 was closed down for a few hours after a bomb scare. An unattended suitcase was found by an airport employee, and he warned the military police. They came by with a sniffer dog trained to detect explosives. The result was bad enough to alarm the bomb squad.

All departures where moved to terminal 3, causing some disruption. Even though the terminals where closed for a few hours, dealys where only half an hour.

The alarm proved to be false. The suitcase contained cleaning stuff therefore the dog responded as though there was a bomb.

Before you start, Schiphol has one terminal building divided into 3 sections. All sections are interlinked and you can freely go airside from T1 to T2/T3. It is more an organizational divide I believe then anything else.
