MD80 plane crash?

Hi all. I was watching television and saw reports that a plane had crashed, just after take off. It was on a beach, it looked like a 737 at first with the eyebrows, but I think it was a 717 or something like it because the engine looked as if it was connected to the tailplane. Does any one have any information on this? I think 20 people lived, and 90 died, or the other way around.
