Finally a Hotel!
Leeds Bradford International Airport is to get its first on-site lodge after planning approval was granted for a 48-bedroom Travelodge.
The development by Gregory Group will be completed during summer 2004 and will be ideally situated for air passengers and airline crew in need of somewhere to stay when travelling to and from the region.
Cllr Cairns, chair of the airport board of directors said, “The lodge development marks another important step forward for Leeds Bradford Airport and couldn’t be at a better time as we look forward to more passengers using the airport, both travelling to and from the region, who will now be able to benefit from the excellent brand and customer service that Travelodge offer.”
Richard Tovey of Gregory Property Developments, which will develop the lodge on behalf of the airport which will own the investment, comments: “This development is an important phase in the successful updating and upgrading of the airport site. It illustrates that the airport is serious about continuing to develop and, with the advent of Jet2 now flying from the airport, is a valuable and much needed asset.”
The lodge will be situated directly opposite the terminal building close to the public car parks, check-in halls and new landside catering facilities which include a Food Village, Burger King and Yates bar.
