The Portuguese airline Air Luxor is to start new low – cost flights under the Air Luxor Light brand. Flights will start on 26th October using Airbus A320-200’s :
Lisbon – Madrid (Daily)
Lisbon – London (Daily) hasnt said which airport
Lisbon – Oporto (4x daily)
Oporto – Madrid (Daily ex weekends)
Existing Air Luxor flights which will be taken over by the Air Luxor Light brand are:
Lisbon – Dublin
Lisbon – Paris Orly
Oporto – Paris Orly
Faro – Dublin
Flights to Funchal, Porto Santo, Bissau and Sao Tome will not be operated by Air Luxor Light but still by Air Luxor.
Bookings can be taken from 1st November 2003 at http://www.airluxor.com
Now that Portugal have a low cost airline there arent really any major European countries which dont have a low cost airline. The only major countries which dont have their own are Spain, Greece, France and Austria.

It will be interesting to see what happens with the London flights. TAP currently flies into LGW yet to me this would seem a good airport for Air Luxor. TAP/Air Luxor have quite a good relationship, a number of their flights code-share, so I wonder which London airport it would be?

Fares to Portugal are currently quite expensive, and I don’t think that TAP has really responded well to 9/11 becasue of this. This might give them a bit of a kick start and accelerate their basic plans for alliance entry.

About time we saw another low cost airline introduced. Considering they are so common these days, it’s been a few months since we last heard of anything new!
London more than likely Luton?
