On my departure from MCO beginning of september I could’nt help notice that on the “which airline is in which terminal” billboards as you approach the main terminal building that terminal B has recently had Thomas Cook added, are they moving from SFB???

I’m always amazed when people moan about the seat pitch on the charter 757’s when they’re most defdinately under 6ft. I have worked on the 757 as crew for a well known British charter airline for 10 years now, I’m 5ft10 and fit quite comfortably into one of the seats. Yes it’s tight but my knees don’t touch the seat infront. Maybe it’s more to do with your posture when you sit (hence you must be slumped half way down the seat) or your legs equate to 3/4’s of your body height I have no idea.
I have a very good posture when sitting, no slouching at all.
I’m telling ya, those seats were packed VERY close together. G-FCLE was the aircraft I got both ways to and from Zante. It was the tightest configuration I’ve ever been in.
Before that, the tightest was Easyjets 737s and even that config allowed me some breathing room. Heck, even a Beech 1900D afforded me more legroom than G-FCLE did.
Anyway, I’m usualy the last to complain about anything when flying. I love flying and am generally very appreciative of the experience. My original reply was not so much a complaint, but a statement of fact.
By comparison, my Excel Airways flight to and from Kos on a 737-800 was much more comfortable. Plenty of legroom. Enough even for the 6 foot something member of our part to spread his legs out a little. I can’t fault that service at all.

Whichever way you put it, the legroom offered is still dismal.

757 & seat pitch
I’m not tall by any means… a mere 1.75m but even my knees dug firmly into the back of the seat in front.

A woman at Thomas Cook says its a 757-300 but saying TCX334K/L were unrecognised. She says Thomas Cook now only operate 300’s
Well, if she’s claiming they only operate 300s now, then I’m sure we’ll really believe her on everything she has to say!!

I flew TCX to Zante in 2005.
I have never been so glad to get off a 757 in all my puff! I’m not tall by any means… a mere 1.75m but even my knees dug firmly into the back of the seat in front.
The pitch must have been 28″, perhaps 29″.
Yeah, unfortuantley this is the case with most charter carriers though…I know for sure that one of the airlines that has been mentioned (can’t name them as I work on behalf of them!), but there seat pitch is 29 inches.
And believe it or not, but MON (not the airline I work on behalf of, before anyone jumps to conclusions!) they have 30 inch seat on all their aircraft, even their long-haul, which my grandparents flew on over Christmas. They did LGW-ACC (Accupulco, Mexico), and said that it was the most uncomfortable flight they have ever been on in their lives…and they have travelled and flown alot!

Im guessing all there 757’s are fairly new built.
FC ones been 97 built, while JMC ones been built around 2000-2001.

Heya there
I flew TCX to Majorca a few weeks back now, on G-TCBA, which is ex-First Choice G-OOOY.
I forgot how small charter seat pitch was, and I’m glad it was no more than 2 hours! :p
Apart from that a really good flight both ways 😀

757-200 most probably.
