After a few hours of non-stop typing, I’ve finally completed my review of my recent Thai Airways International flights between London Heathrow and Bangkok and back again!
Because there is so much text (I think), it’s not letting me post it here so I have uploaded it into my webspace for you to read. It is undoubtedly the longest review I’ve ever written with over 2,600 words! 😀
Check out http://www.mkinghorn.co.uk/review.htm to read it.

BA to MNL – not even code share (I just checked to make sure), which seems a strange omission. I have only once been on an aircraft to/from Mnl that wasn’t just about full and that was on LH leaving Mnl just before midnight on New Years Eve. Best economy flight ever – there were about 40 pax.
I saw a documentary on OFW’s (Overseas Filippino Workers) recently which gave the number of OFW’s passing through NAIA as 2600 per day, which would make BA’s decision even more questionable.

Taking a 180 degree view, I find BA good in all areas, with the exception of acute lack of personal space.

There are some shocking ommissions from BA’s network. They are really “London American” to be frank.
Manila, Shanghai, Osaka. I think Jakarta, Seoul and KL are operated by someone else under code share?
I kept seeing Asiana 744’s at Terminal 4 at LHR last week, which may account for Seoul.

Yes, thats a really excellent review almost as good as trying out Thai for myself – perhaps it’s actually better! The 34″ seat pitch is my main reason for considering Thai for our next trip to Manila, in common with Malaysia Airlines.
I want to try another airline, so far done the trip on Emirates, BA, KLM, and LH(twice), but there’s a temptation just to go LH again – it has its faults, but I always feel that I’m flying in a very professionally operated aircraft.

Not keen niether.
I’d like much better the 777 that they painted with a litlle bit of the scheme of all the members

That’s very tacky looking, not a fan of that Star Alliance scheme.

A good review… very good for that matter! And very detailed too.
Flights as a whole sounded about average. Food otherwise not the case. I probably wouldn’t have eaten what you were given on your return trip… ewwww!
The TV situation I would does need to be reviewd with out fail… Its what you expect of this type of airline… Like you said BA have them. this I no from personal experiance… Sitting in a World Traveller Plus seat, with a PTV in front of you, a touch screen one at that!
Also all the rushing around would have worried me a little and the fact that no pre flight checks were done… Hmmmm!
I had my fingers crossed for you that you would fly back on HS-TGW… http://www.planepictures.net/netshow.cgi?120848 Would have made a change from your normal Thai aircraft, but I see you flew the same one back as you did going.
Thanks for the report, it was a very good read. 🙂
Cheers and Welcome back.
