Just a few news stories going round for the airline. Firstly Aer Lingus has announced that they will inaugurate flights from Dublin to Toulouse and Tenerife for the winter season. Flights to Tenerife are scheduled to operate on Saturdays only, and flight to Toulouse on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Aer Lingus has said that they were reacting quickly to customer demands.
Already launched this year as new routes are Jersey (which was bolstered up from 3x to 4x weekly because of good loads), Lisbon, Palma, Bologna and Washington-Baltimore.
On a slightly different note, Aer Lingus will discontinue flights from Dublin to Cork from the end of October. The decision comes as the airline continues to lose money on the route with there already being sufficient capacity on the route through competition. This move, however, is part of Aer Lingus’ policy to reduce domestic services and will obviously be filled in by Aer Arran (7x to 9x daily) and Air Wales who fly the route also.
