I have booked to take my family from Gatwick down to my brothers new house about an hour east of Bordeaux in September. I am flying Air France which I gather is actually a BritAir CRJ which I am quite pleased about as I haven’t been on one of those before and am interested to see how it compares to the Embraer which I very much like. I imagine the flight will either be on a 100 or 200 series but what is the difference between these series?

According to the AF timetable’s seating plans, Brit Air don’t operate the CR2, they operate the CR1 and CR7.
The CR7 seats 74, the CR1 seats 50.
I think that’s the main difference, apart from the CR7 obviously being much longer.

No, I’m monogamous now, as nice as 4 of them would be!

I didn’t realise the CRJ would be 4 abreast (now Mongu you aren’t saying breast for any particular topical reason are you 😉 ).

The Embraer is 3-abreast and the CRJ is 4-abreast.
I think the main difference between a CRJ100 and CRJ200 is the performance – the 200 is more modern. They both carry a maximum of 50 or so passengers (52 I think).
