Just found this one while cleaning my computer. I took this one during the last commercial passenger flight of DC-4 PH-DDS, 3 or so years ago. BW Roger

It brings back fond memories of the halcyon days of aviation to me

DDA is still around , although in a faded way. They were just allowed to start flying passengers again, with their DC3 PH-DDZ. They also operate DC3 PH-PBA. However, no more DC4 flying. I don’t like flying in a Dakota (I made over 800 flights, never been sick, since 1971. Flew 6 times in a DC3, and was airsick 5 times). And apart from that, I prefer the 4 engined props. So far flew in IL-18 (TAROM, 1972), DC-4 (DDA 2 times), P-3 Orion (Dutch and Spanish Navy/Airforce and Constellation (MATS Connie 1994). Hope that Red Bull will start flying with their passenger DC-6 next year. BW Roger

The last time I saw one of these operating was at Biggin Hill air show a few years back. I got a pic somewhere, I will dig it out and post it later. 🙂
Nice pic of a classic Roger! 🙂
