What the heck!?

Recently spent a few days in Genoa, and was regularly overflown by an aircraft that looked like maintenance had really put back together all wrong! Elevators at the front, and props on the back of the engines. Mind you, it seemed to fly OK, looked good and sounded good as well.
Can’t think what it was, so please tell me guys!

THere’s a lot of the Starships here at Raytheon in Wichita, we get t osee them in the air every so often. I live about two miles from the field where at least three are often seen parked on the ramp.

It has 2, one on each wingtip as shown in the picture.

That Avanti that Wysiwyg was talking about visits Farnborough and Fairoaks quite regularly. I’ve no idea of the reg or operator though as I’ve never seen it when I’ve been up at Farnborough, just from my house.

I occasionally pop into the Transair pilots shop once in a blue moon so was there a few weeks back. I think the Avanti was just visiting but there seems to be a PC12 there quite frequently. There also seem to be a few based KingAirs.

To answer your question, I live round the corner from Jay330 about 3-5 miles north west of Heathrow. I occasionally ride through Sutton to see my parents who live just south of you in Banstead.

Ian do you live very near to Fairoaks? I have been wanting to visit the field for a while, what can I expect to see other than the police choppers?

Cheers mate

I’d love to have a go in an Avanti or a Starship. There was an Avanti at Fairoaks a few weeks back. No I didn’t get the reg, I’m not that kind of chap!

Thanks for all those. I may be going back to Genoa shortly, so if I do, I will get along to the airport and try to find out if the Piaggio is actually flying a scheduled route.

Ya though Starship was a brilliant design it didnt solve any purpose….seats only 6 people, very less lugage space, the only thing good was its design and range.

What about this one? Beech Starship, don’t know if it would be operating where he saw it though.

No probs, thats what I thought you meant. My comment related to what I think may be differences in the aircraft pictured, and going on to the obvious source of aircraft pics I found that there are indeed differences in the type. But I don’t want to go too deeply into the detailed model history!
Going back to my original comment that it sounded good though, I found that one is a corporate aircraft for Ferrari:D

Sorry, must have confused you. I was referring to the aircraft type (as if to ask if it were the same one) opposed the exact aircraft.
