OO-VLM was seen last Sunday in this special livery. Maybe already known by most, but I didn’t know it. Quality is poor as the sun was totaly wrong for the shot. BW Roger

The Fokker 70 would do all right at LCY. It would be excellent to see them operating jets and would open up possibly some new expansion of routes etc, although at the moment they are on a winning formula with their current aircraft.
Their idea of serving regional airports and potentially expanding upon them as done very well and has had a very positive outcome on regions. As you have said what they do for the local economies is excellent and we have benefited from continental tourism from the Benelux region from this as an example. No doubt an area like Exeter and Antwerp will benefit even more in the future.
Definitely a good airline voted best for travel to and from the Benelux region I believe.

Just a question. Would you be interested in seeing VLM operating the Fokker 70? Would be lovely to see them operating a jet 🙂I have a lot of time for VLM. Seems like a good little airline with optimistic growth. Over the last few years they have expanded steadily with a profit yet at the same time have retained an excellent service with a regional outlook.
The new VLM Rotterdam-London City-Guernsey-Jersey-Zurich route will come as great benefit especially for connections on Swiss plus to tourism also.
Yes Saab, I would definitely like to see VLM operate the Fokker 70, I am only surprised that they have remained jet-free for so long, their flights are very popular and having a jet would help them to expand both routes and passenger numbers. I don’t know how they would go on at LCY with a jet though, the only jets there are the one owned and operated by the airport itself and then the BAe 146/Avro RJs which the airlines fly in. It would do well on their routes to and from the Channel Islands and Manchester to Antwerp/Rotterdam. They are a superb airline and deserve to do well, and they bring alot of potential for growth into smaller airports, which can only be good for local economies I think.

That is, I know, but we are the winners- we are towards the latter end and we get an London City route as well.

thats a very interesting little route they seem to have going there! I’d love to see the Rokkef project take ahold!

It was scheduled for Rotterdam.
LCY is nice, just that I would have preferred a somewhat harder landing. The BAe 146s seemed to touch harder 🙂

Bloody hell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bloody awful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am flying from LCY with VLM in September, I remember that livery when it was posted before and it now resides in the photos page on my Sabena club. I said then, and I say the same now, I hope it is only temporary because I do not want to fly to Belgium on a bloody flying advertising hoarding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The proper VLM livery is much classier (hope you enjoyed LCY Frank, it is a superb airport to fly from (and back to))

Ok then… I spent one hour at the barrier of LCY taking pics of what passed.. It is sometimes nice to be a bit early at the airport.
