I view them as just being smaller not classic or the step below in technology, as far as i know they are pretty much the same but with different sizes, the oldest being only 10 years old now.

They list orders by airline in a spreadsheet which you can download via the link robc gave.
Emirates:
A300 – 5 orders, 5 completed
A310 – 8 orders, 8 completed (1 option?!)
A330 – 28 orders, 26 completed (so 2 to go)
A340 – 6 orders, 0 completed (so 6 to go)
A380 – 22 orders (is this spreadsheet up to date?!)
Unfortunately it does not distinguish between the A340 classics and the A340 NG.
