B-52H 60-0024 ‘LA’ of the 20th Bomb Squadron departs RAF Fairford as ‘Aero 11’ on the morning of April 1. The Stratofortress carries a trio of inert 500lb-class bombs under its starboard wing. The B-52s began to return to Barksdale four days later. Hywel Evan USAF B-52Hs recently returned to RAF Fairford, Gloucestershire for training activities over Europe.
