
Boeing rolled out the first flight test 777-9 at Everett in mid-March. The aircraft, N7779XW, is due to undertake its first flight this year before the first customer delivery to the initial operator, Lufthansa, in 2020 following flight and certification testing. The General Electric GE9X-powered aircraft will seat 400-425 passengers and have 7,525 nautical miles (13,490km) range. A second 777X family member, the 777-8, will seat 350- 375 passengers and offer 8,690 nautical miles (16,090km) range.
