The Triplane built on the success of the earlier Pup A Sopwith Triplane head-on, revealing marked absence of struttery. VIA COLINOWERS The Triplane incorporated many lines comparable with those of its Pup stablemate. Initially, power came from a 110hp Clerget 9Z ninecylinder rotary engine attached to an overhung mounting, and enclosed within a circular open fronted cowling.
