Etihad’s profits and fleet expand
Etihad Airways has reported a 48% increase in profits, to £178m, in the first half of 2024.It said total revenue increased 21% to £2.44bn, a 24% year-on-year increase, reflecting “strong demand fuelled by strategic network expansion” and “increased flight frequencies”. The number of passengers carried increased to 8.7 million, 38% up on the same time last year, which the airline said is approximately three-times higher than IATA’s average growth rate of 13% for Middle Eastern carriers in the same period.
