British Airways is set to operate its busiest ever flight schedule to North America in the summer of 2025 with more than 400 direct flights a week across the Atlantic.
The UK flag carrier’s expanded schedule includes increased frequencies to several US destinations, such as Miami, Florida; Austin, Texas, and Washington DC. The airline will operate daily flights to 26 US cities, with several of them seeing an increase in the frequency of BA services. The Miami flight will operate twice daily year-round, with 14 flights per week, while services to Austin will increase to 13 weekly. Additional flights to Las Vegas, Nevada; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Washington DC are also part of the expansion – the US capital will be connected to London three times a day.

British Airways’ Chief Planning and Strategy Officer, Neil Chernoff, highlighted the importance of the US market for the company: “The US remains a priority market for us, and we know these network changes will be welcomed by both our business and leisure customers, providing more options than ever before to travel between the UK and the USA”.
The airline will also boost its presence in Canada, adding seven flights per week to Vancouver, bringing the total to 14 weekly flights during the peak summer months. Along with a daily flight from Gatwick, passengers will therefore have three daily options between the UK and Vancouver from June to September.
The airline’s US services will allow passengers to connect onto more than 100 US destinations through its partnership with other carriers - BA is part of oneworld, the global alliance which includes American Airlines and Alaska Airlines.
Beyond North America, British Airways is also increasing frequencies to other global destinations. A third daily flight to Delhi will be added for the summer, bringing the airline’s total flights to India to 63 per week. From Gatwick, flights to Cancun in Mexico will become a daily service, while a second daily flight to Florence will be introduced from Heathrow.
New routes to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia and Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, launching in November 2024, will continue into summer 2025, while frequencies to Riyadh in the Kingdom will also increase. Additionally, the airline’s direct route from London Gatwick to Bangkok, Thailand, will resume from October 28, 2024, with flights increasing to five times per week early in 2025.
