New home for first production F/A-18E Super Hornet

The first production Boeing F/A-18E Super Hornet (BuNo 165164 ‘E1’ c/n 1285/E1) was unveiled at the National Museum of Transportation in St Louis, Missouri on August 3, 2024 in a formal dedication ceremony. Playing a key role in the aircraft ending up on display was the Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Weapon Systems Support (WSS) Industrial Support team in Philadelphia which manages the US Navy’s ‘stricken aircraft’ (those that have been retired and removed from the active-duty inventory).
