German-owned Spitfire returns to UK register

Supermarine Spitfire Mk.XVIIIe SM845 has been returned to the UK Register as G-BUOS, having been acquired by Duxford’s Aircraft Restoration Company. Previously registered D-FIII by Fliegerhorst GmbH & Co KG of Eschbach, Germany in 2021, the 1945-built machine was damaged on landing at Hildesheim on May 26, 2023 Alan Wilson , For lots more on Spitfires, click here
