Brazilian A-29s shoot down drug smuggling plane following airspace intrusion

Força Aérea Brasileira (FAB, Brazilian Air Force)-operated Embraer A-29A/B Super Tucanos intercepted and shot down an unresponsive light aircraft in the northern area of Mato Grosso on September 7. The light aircraft - a Cessna 182P Skyplane - had crossed over the Bolivian border and into Brazilian airspace without authorisation, prompting the FAB to scramble A-29A/B light attack aircraft and an Embraer E-99 Guardião airborne early warning and control (AEW&C) platform to intercept and monitor the plane. The FAB stated
