Aerosoft has announced Mt Everest Airports Vol. 1 – Lukla for Microsoft Flight Simulator is now available.

Known as the gateway to Mount Everest, Lukla has a steep uphill gradient, short runway and high elevation, making it one of the world's most dangerous airports. It also experiences frequent bad weather, and with no navigational aids, it can often result in challenging conditions during take-off and landing.

Developed by LimeSim, the package for Microsoft Flight Simulator features a detailed elevation model of Lukla Airport with high-resolution photorealistic textures. It also sports an up-to-date ground layout, including the newly constructed helipad and terminal extension with interior modelling.

Other highlights include the recently erected Tenzing-Hillary statue and gardens next to the runway, various animations such as 3D people, animals and ground service equipment.

The creek along the runway is also modelled along with realistic night lighting and sound effects. It is available on the Aerosoft website for €10.03 (approx £8.50).
