Scenery developer MM Simulations has announced Vestmannaeyjar Airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator is now available.
Vestmannaeyjar is a small volcanic island cluster off the south coast of Iceland. Its only airport, BIVM, on Heimaey has two runways and offers challenging flying conditions due to frequent high winds and low visibility.

In 1973, the Eldfell eruption destroyed most of the town on the island, forcing the entire population to be evacuated to the mainland. Today, the island has scheduled routes to Reykjavík, with a flight time of approximately 25 minutes.

The package from MM Simulations sports an accurately modelled terminal and interior with PBR (Physically Based Rendering) effects throughout. Other highlights include custom night lighting, parking positions matching the actual airport and animated people and objects.

The surrounding area has been customised with updated CGL data and extensive terraforming.

Vestmannaeyjar is available on simMarket for €14.40 (approx £13).
