US start-up airline Breeze Airways has revealed its new Airbus A220-300 livery, while confirming that it has signed an agreement with the European airframer for 20 more of the aircraft.
The previously undisclosed order brings the carrier’s total commitment to 80 examples, the first of which will be delivered in the fourth quarter of this year.
The narrowbody’s new paint job was completed at Airbus’ facility in Mobile, Alabama, which is expected to deliver around one A220 per month over the next six-and-a-half years.
Breeze is expected to begin flights with the type in the second quarter of 2022.
The Utah-based airline started operations in May. This first A220 is the first new aircraft that will be operated by the carrier as it currently leases ten former Air Canada Embraer E190s and a handful of ex Azul E195s.
The European airframer acquired the A220 (then the CS Series programme) from Bombardier in 2017.
More than 170 examples have been delivered to ten operators in Asia, North Americas, Europe, and Africa.
