Portugal receives first second-hand P-3C Orion from Germany

The Força Aerea Portuguesa (FAP; Portuguese Air Force) received the first of six former Marineflieger (German Navy)-operated P-3C Orion maritime patrol aircraft (MPA) on February 9. The aircraft – which has now received the FAP serial 24817 but was previously registered as 60+08 in Marineflieger service – was photographed in its newly applied Portuguese markings as it conducted a local test flight at Nordholz Air Base, Germany, on February 8. The second ex-German P-3C will reportedly be delivered in March.
