Chinese Y-20A airlifter makes another rare visit to Austria
In what is a rare visit to Europe, the People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) has flown a Xi’an Y-20A Kunpeng heavy-lift strategic transport to Innsbruck Airport, marking the second time in less than a year that China has dispatched one of its airlifters to Austria. The Y-20A (serial 20240) announced its arrival in Austria with the characteristic sound of four Russian-made Solowjov D-30KP-2 turbofan engines as it was on final approach into Innsbruck Airport at approximately 0800hrs (local time)
