Republic P-47N Thunderbolt 44-89136 (N844WA) arrived at Peachtree City, Georgia on August 1 where it is to be restored by the Georgia Wing of the Commemorative Air Force Formerly registered N47TB, it flew in the colours of 44-88211 Lil Meaties’ Meat Chopper, the 1945 mount of Lt Oscar F Perdomo who had the distinction of becoming the USAAF’s last World War Two ace (and ace-in-a-day), downing five Japanese aircraft on August 13.
