Created by indie developer Rob Byrne YGLA Gladstone Airport is the latest addition to Orbx's Australian airport collection.

Gladstone is on the central Queensland coast, just over 230nm north of Brisbane. It is home to two of the world's largest aluminium refineries, Queensland's largest power station and an extensive rail infrastructure that supports the deepwater harbour. Despite being a mid-sized regional airport, Gladstone welcomes regular services from QANTAS Dash 8s, Embraer E190s, Alliance Airlines Fokker 70s from Brisbane and Bonza Boeing 737s from the Gold Coast and Melbourne.

The package for Microsoft Flight Simulator is a detailed rendition of Gladstone Airport, sporting ultra-high-resolution textures, crisp 15cm aerial imagery and extensive terraforming, including a state-of-the-art double-level parking area. Other highlights are detailed terminals with interior modelling, volumetric glass and accurate runway, taxiways and aprons with night lighting and signs. The gradients for the taxiways and sloping terminal area are also accurately modelled.

The nearby industrial area is recreated with models of Gladstone Power Station, extensive railway yards on the Runway 10 approach and road bridges with rail underpasses for Runway 28 with animated trains. The package is available on OrbxDirect for AUD$24.64 (approx £12.77).
