Tutor T.1 is used by the Royal Air Force University Air Squadrons and Air Experience Flights to train cadets in the UK Air Training Corps.
It was designed for basic flight training and aerobatics in VFR during day or night and IFR training in non-icing conditions. The spacious cockpit is fitted with two side by side seats for a pilot and a student while the large glass canopy renders all round clear visibility. The primary flight controls and switches are integrated on the right side of the cockpit with a right-hand stick and a left-hand throttle, enabling trainee pilots to transit easily to fast jet aircraft.
