IWM In the Cockpit Experiences

Did you know it's possible to sit in the cockpit of an airworthy combat veteran Mk Ia Spitfire? Visitors to the IWM Duxford are able to follow in the footsteps of Squadron Leader Geoffrey Stephenson and climb inside the cockpit of N3200, the 19 Squadron Spitfire that he took off and crash landed on the beach at Dunkirk in 1940. Having downed a Stuka, N3200 was itself shot down and remained covered by the sand and sea for the next
