UK Sentry fleet stands down as disposal options considered
Following the completion of the last operational flight of the UK’s E-3D Sentry AEW1 fleet, the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) is turning its attention to the potential sale or disposal of the aircraft and ensuring crews are ready to take up the E-7 Wedgetail replacements from 2023. In an August 4 release, the Royal Air Force (RAF) revealed that E-3D Sentry ZH101 of 8 Squadron landed at RAF Waddington, Lincolnshire, to close a 30-year operational service of the type.
