Afghan MD530F makes emergency landing in Helmand
An MD Helicopters Inc (MDHI) MD530F Cayuse Warrior light attack/scout helicopter assigned to the Afghan Air Force (AAF) was forced to make an emergency landing near Lashkar Gar Square in Helmand province on July 29. During this incident, the helicopter – serial 289 – suffered a hard landing, which resulted in its starboard skid collapsing and its tail boom being partially severed. It was not reported whether either of the two onboard crew members were injured during this attrition event,
