MiG repaint progress in Australia

A museum in New South Wales is in the process of refurbishing a MiG-21

Australia’s Historical Aircraft Restoration Society (HARS) Aviation Museum based in Albion Park New South Wales, has been repainting its former Polish Air Force MiG-21.

The jet was originally imported into Australia for use as an ‘enemy’ aircraft in dogfight training against RAAF McDonnell Douglas Hornets. After withdrawal from use, the MiG was acquired by HARS and delivered in March 2020. It is now part of a Cold War-themed display that also includes two other aircraft of Soviet design, a MiG-15 and a MiG-17, plus a Sabre.

These recent pictures showing progress on the repaint – into an Indian Air Force scheme – were captured at the weekend.
