Russian fleet migration continues
More than 200 aircraft have now been transferred from the Bermudan register as airlines in Russia continue their efforts to circumnavigate international sanctions. According to local news outlet Kommersant, this includes around 150 Boeing and Airbus types, along with Embraer and Bombardier regional aircraft and at least one Gulfstream business jet. The airframes in question were acquired from lessors and were active with domestic carriers when sanctions were imposed in March 2022 in response to Russia’s invasion of neighbouring Ukraine.
