An airworthy example of the de Havilland classic has recently come up for sale

De Havilland DH.115 T.55 Vampire C-FJRH has been listed for sale by North American broker Courtesy Aircraft.

The 1958-built Vampire currently on the Canadian civil register, is a dual control version that formerly served the Swiss Air Force as U-1213. Since being restored it has flown for some 50 hours and is painted in an eye-catching Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) scheme. Its livery is that of RCAF 442 City of Vancouver Auxiliary Fighter Squadron.

The restored jet boasts a Garmin package in a new panel, and has large drop tanks (as used by the Vampire’s sister, the Venom). A complete overhaul of the wooden forward fuselage section was carried out between 2017 and 2019, with most of the wiring forward of the firewall replaced, and the aircraft has a fresh, custom instrument panel.
