British military jet developer AERALIS revealed two full-scale replica jets during a ceremony at the Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference (DIMDEX) 2022 at Qatar's National Convention Centre on March 21.

The Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, led the ceremony unveiling two full-scale replicas of the company’s innovative modular jet.

Built in the UK and shipped to Qatar, the two models included one fully assembled aircraft, displaying the advanced jet trainer configuration, and painted in a livery inspired by the Qatari Emiri Air Force (QAEF). The second model was presented in a semi-disassembled state to show how the common-core fuselage can form other aircraft variants.

This event follows a very successful year for AERALIS, after it signed a three-year contract with the RAF’s Rapid Capabilities Office and agreements with UK company Thales, and companies Atkins and Siemens.

Also during 2021, and explains the company’s presence in Qatar, AERALIS signed an investment agreement with Barzan Holdings of Qatar, who have provided initial investment to support AERALIS in the preliminary design phase of its jet.

Founder & CEO of AERALIS, Tristan Crawford said after the ceremony: “It was an enormous privilege to have His Highness attend the unveiling of our stand at DIMDEX today. His presence here signifies our commitment to this region, as well as to industry and government in Qatar, and we are enormously pleased to be able to present a tangible visualisation of our cutting-edge modular jet.”
