Brittany Ferries unveils radical new aircraft which would make crossing the channel six times faster than a boat Brittany Ferries has revealed plans for an all-electric, wing-in-ground effect (WIG) vehicle capable of travelling from Portsmouth to Cherbourg in 40 minutes. The cross-channel company has signed a letter of intent, which could see the new ‘sea-glider’ operating between the UK and France by 2028. The craft, which is currently being developed in the United States by Boston-based start-up Regional Electric Ground
