Overheating APU caused nearly US$3m of damage to USAF F-22
A new US Air Force Aircraft Accident Investigation Board Report has revealed that an overheating auxiliary power unit (APU) caused nearly US$3m of damage to an F-22A Raptor in a previously unreported incident at Nellis Air Force Base (AFB), Nevada, on October 30, 2020. The report, published by Air Combat Command on July 9, outlined that the aircraft involved was F-22A tail number 06-4109 ‘WA’ from the 53rd Wing’s 422nd Test and Evaluation Squadron ‘Green Bats’ headquartered at Eglin AFB,
