Combat veteran P-40 Kittyhawk unveiled
Curtiss P-40E Kittyhawk A29-90 Ming the Merciless was unveiled at the Royal Australian Air Force Museum at RAAF Point Cook on 23 March by Air Marshal Stephen Chappell, Chief of Air Force. Delivered to No 76 Squadron, RAAF on 2 May 1942, A29-90 flew combat missions during the Battle of Milne Bay in New Guinea, in August and September of that year.
