Aviano F-16s undertake the first WSEP in Europe from Lakenheath

Eight US Air Force F-16CM Fighting Falcons from the 555th Fighter Squadron ‘Triple Nickel’ at Aviano Air Base in Italy arrived at RAF Lakenheath, Suffolk on April 8, 2025 for a Weapons System Evaluation Program (WSEP)/Combat Archer exercise. The Aviano F-16CMs deployed to Lakenheath are serial numbers 87-0350, 87-0351, 87-0359, 88-0460, 89-2016, 89-2041, 89-2096 and 90-0773. The squadron is using the MOD Aberporth range in Cardigan Bay off Wales for the weapons’ firings and also making use of Low Flying
