Pilot error caused USMC F-35B crash
A command investigation into the loss of a US Marine Corps F-35B Lightning II mishap in South Carolina on September, 17, 2023, has been completed by the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing (MAW) investigating officer and endorsed by the commanding general of the 2nd MAW. Released on October 31, the report identifies the aircraft involved as ‘side number BF-66’, which is in fact the construction number. This makes it BuNo 169591, which at the time is believed to have been coded
