Airbus closes BelugaST operation
Airbus has confirmed that it has closed its Beluga Transport (AiBT) operation. Its fleet of four A300-600ST Beluga aircraft was previously used by the manufacturing giant to transport aircraft parts between its facilities within Europe. Since the introduction of the newer and larger A330-700L BelugaXL fleet to carry the companies A350 wings, and with plenty of life left in the ST fleet, Airbus envisioned creating a transport operation with the BelugaST carrying outsized cargo for external clients worldwide.
