“HUNDREDS of mourners gathered yesterday for the funeral of a brother and sister from Edinburgh who died in a plane crash in Florida.
Around 80 people, dressed in colourful clothes as requested by the family, lined the streets as the coffins arrived at Mortonhall Crematorium in Edinburgh, a short drive from where their parents Elaine and Thomas live.
Around 200 mourners attended the celebration of life service, which was led by humanist celebrant Anne Roberts.
In a tribute released ahead of the service by Buckinghamshire New University, in High Wycombe, Ms Beattie’s course co-ordinator Shari Peyami said: “Carly had an unbounded enthusiasm and dedication to becoming a pilot. Her lively personality and passion for flying made her popular with all of her colleagues and instructional staff.”
